UNIX/Linux JDK Requirements

There are specific JDK requirements for installing Sterling B2B Integrator and (if applicable) a perimeter server on UNIX platform.

When you upgrade, use the following guidelines:

  • If you are upgrading from Gentran Integration Suite 4.x or Sterling B2B Integrator 5.0 to Sterling B2B Integrator 5.2.0 - 5.2.4.1, upgrade the JDK version to 1.6.
  • If you are upgrading from Gentran Integration Suite 4.x or Sterling B2B Integrator 5.0 to Sterling B2B Integrator 5.2.4.2, upgrade the JDK version to 1.6 or 1.7.
  • If you are upgrading from Gentran Integration Suite 4.x or Sterling B2B Integrator 5.0 to Sterling B2B Integrator 5.2.5, upgrade the JDK version to 1.7.
The following table lists the UNIX/Linux JDK requirements. Follow these guidelines as you use this table:
  • The two OS (operating system) columns indicate if the UNIX/Linux vendor supports a 32-bit or a 64-bit operating system.
  • Operating system-native virtualization solutions are supported for all of these platforms (for example, Solaris containers and zones (local and global); HACMP for AIX; and HP-UX MC/ServiceGuard)
Note: A JDK has more than one type of version number. For example, JDK 6.0 and JDK 1.6.0 are both names for the same JDK. Version 6.0 is used in marketing, documentation and other written communication. When you download the JDK, it will be identified on the web page as Java SE Development Kit 6uxx. Version 1.6.0 is used in file names. The downloaded JDK file will use the name that appears in the JDK requirements table.
