Before planning to suspend a logical partition, verify that the logical partition can be
suspended by using the Hardware Management Console (HMC).
Before you verify that the logical partition can be suspended, ensure that the logical
partition does not have its
rootvg volume group on a logical volume or have any
exported optical devices.
The Suspend/Resume feature for logical partitions is supported on POWER8® processor-based servers when the firmware is at level FW840,
or later.
