PCIe slot descriptions for the 8335-GCA or 8335-GTA
- The full-height, full-length adapters can be installed only in the full-height, full-length slots 1 and 4.
- The half-height, half-length or short (low-profile) adapters can be installed in slots 2, 3, and 5.

1Slots 4 and 1 are made available by the internal PCIe riser. 2Slots 4 and 1 can be filled with a PCIe3 x16 graphics processing unit (GPU) adapter (FC EC49) or a full-height, full-length adapter in the 8335-GCA. Mixing of a GPU adapter and a full-height, full-length adapter is supported on this model. 3Slots 4 and 1 must be used to install a GPU adapter (FC EC49) in the 8335-GTA. 4Slots 5 and 3 are x8 slots. The adapter priority for these slots is for the high-performance adapters followed by any other adapter. |
PCIe adapter placement rules
Use this information to select slots for installing PCIe adapters in the 8335-GCA or 8335-GTA system. Table 2 provides information about the adapters, the slot priorities in the system they are supported on, and the maximum number of adapters that can be installed in the supported system.
