Accessing the template library

All templates reside in the template library, which is accessible from the Hardware Management Console (HMC).

To view and select the templates that are available in the template library, complete the following steps:
  1. Choose one of the following navigation options depending on the interface type of the Hardware Management Console (HMC):
    • If you are using an HMC Enhanced interface, complete the following steps:
      1. In the navigation area, expand Systems Management > Servers.
      2. Select a server and click Templates > Template Library.
    • If you are using an HMC Enhanced+ interface, complete the following steps:
      1. In the navigation pane, click the HMC Management icon The icon represents the HMC Management function of the HMC.
      2. Click Templates and OS Images, or click Template Library.
  2. Select the System tab to view the existing system templates, or the Partition tab to view the existing partition templates.
  3. Select a template from the list of templates that are displayed.
You can view, modify, deploy, copy, import, export, or delete user-defined templates that are available in the template library. You cannot alter the quick-start templates, however you can edit a copy of the quick-start template.
