Integrated xSeries Adapter

Learn how to install, or remove and replace an Integrated xSeries® Adapter.

This is a customer task. You can perform this task yourself, or contact a service provider to perform the task for you. You might be charged a fee by the service provider for this service.

The Integrated xSeries Adapter (IXA) is identified as card number 2689 or machine type 1519 model 100 or model 200. The model that you install, or remove and replace, in your xSeries server, depends on the type of xSeries server that you have. To complete some of the steps in a task, you might need to refer to your xSeries server documentation.

Before continuing, refer to the iSeries® Integrated xSeries solutions web site at http://www.ibm.com/servers/eserver/iseries/integratedxseries/. This site has the latest Integrated xSeries Adapter information, including information about i5/OS® program temporary fixes (PTFs) that are required to run xSeries servers that are integrated with the eServer™ system.
