Create your own end-to-end setup checklist to initially set up your server. The checklist is intended to ensure that the system is capable of starting and that it is functional before you perform more complex and custom configurations.
- Hardware: Rack, expansion unit, and cabling it all together
- Console or interface: Hardware Management Console (HMC), Advanced System Management Interface, Integrated Virtualization Manager, Virtual Partition Manager, Operations Console, Thin Console, or twinaxial console
- Operating environments and logical partitions: AIX®, Linux®, i5/OS®, and Virtual I/O Server
- Service and support: Operating environment or HMC connection
