IVM chvet command

Purpose

Activates Virtualization Engine systems technologies. This command is operable only in an Integrated Virtualization Manager environment.

Syntax

chvet -o <e> -k <activation code> [-m <managed system>] [--help ]

Description

The chvet command performs activation of Virtualization Engine systems technologies on the managed-system.

Flags

Flag name Description
-o The operation to perform. The only valid value is e to enter an activation code.
-m managed system The name of the managed system for which the Virtualization Engine systems technologies activation is to be performed. The name may either be the user-defined name for the managed system, or be in the form tttt-mmm*ssssssss, where tttt is the machine type, mmm is the model, and ssssssss is the serial number of the managed system.
-k The activation code (key) to enter. Letters may be entered in either upper case or lower case.
--help Display the help text for this command and exit.

Exit Status

This command has a return code of 0 on success.

Examples

To enter an activation code, type the following command:
chvet -m mySystem -o e -k AlphaNumericString12345
