Verifying that the destination server supports migration of IBM i mobile partitions

To migrate an IBM® i mobile partition, verify that the destination server supports migration of IBM i mobile partitions.

You must be a super administrator to do this task.

With the Hardware Management Console (HMC), you can migrate an IBM i mobile partition from one server to another.

When the Hardware Management Console (HMC) is at version 8.7.0, or later, you can use the lssyscfg command to verify that the destination server supports migration of IBM i mobile partitions.

To verify that the destination server supports migration of IBM i mobile partitions, complete the following steps by using the HMC:

  1. In the navigation pane, open Systems Management and select Servers.
  2. Select the destination server in the work pane.
  3. From the Tasks menu, click Properties.
  4. Click the Capabilities tab.
    • If IBM i Partition Mobility Capable is True, the destination server supports migration of IBM i mobile partitions.
    • If IBM i Partition Mobility Capable is False, the destination server does not support migration of IBM i mobile partitions.
  5. Click OK.
