To migrate an AIX® mobile
partition that uses Active Memory™ Expansion,
verify that the destination server is capable of Active Memory Expansion by using the Hardware Management Console (HMC).
To verify that the destination server
is capable of Active Memory Expansion,
complete the following tasks:
- In the navigation pane, open Systems Management and
select Servers.
- Select the destination server in the work pane.
- From the Tasks menu, select Properties.
- Click the Capabilities tab.
- If Active Memory Expansion Capable is
True, the destination server is capable of Active Memory Expansion.

The HMC Classic interface is
not supported in Hardware Management Console (HMC) Version 8.7.0, or later. The functions that were previously

Active Memory Expansion:

- Click All Systems. The All Systems page is
displayed.
- In the work pane, select the system and click . The Properties page is displayed.
- Click Licensed Capabilities. The Licensed Capabilities page lists the
features that are supported by the server.
- In the Licensed Capabilities page, verify the list of features that are displayed.
- If Active Memory Expansion Capable is marked by the icon, the destination server supports the Active Memory Expansion capability.
- If Active Memory Expansion Capable is marked by the icon, the destination server does not support the Active Memory Expansion capability, and
you cannot migrate the mobile partition to the server. To migrate the mobile partition, change the
partition configuration so that it does not use Active Memory Expansion.
