Software requirements
---------------------------

MQ for HPE NonStop V8.0 requires the following minimum Release Version Updates (RVUs):

• L16.05
• J06.20

MQ for HPE NonStop V8.0 was tested with the following Software Product Releases (SPRs)
installed. IBM recommends that these SPRs are installed on the system before installing MQ.

• NSX L16.05

– T2766ACW Java 7

• NSI J06.20

– T1280ABI Posix User Threads (PUT)
– T2766ACN Java 7
– T1202AAG Coreutils
– T8628ABD groupadd/del/mod
– T8626ADX groupadd/del/mod

This information supersedes the information in the announcement letter, as these RVUs come with the necessary compilers.

Software recommendations
-----------------------------
Due to system software defects, unexpected errors might occur if MQ for HPE NonStop V8.0 is installed under a long path name. To overcome this problem, you should have the following SPRs installed:

There are no limitations or known problems for Version 8.0.4.

LIMITATIONS AND KNOWN PROBLEMS FOR VERSION 8.0.3

There are no limitations or known problems for Version 8.0.3.

LIMITATIONS AND KNOWN PROBLEMS FOR VERSION 8.0.2
================================================

Support for MQGET MQGMO_SET_SIGNAL is reduced to Guardian Bindings
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you use MQGET with MQGMO_SET_SIGNAL on a connection not using MQCNO_GUARDIAN_BINDING, the LQMA will ABEND. If such a call is issued it now fails with RC2046 'MQRC_OPTIONS_ERROR'.

Queue Manager setting CERTVPOL(ANY) is ignored and RFC5280 checks are applied
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This issue is fixed in Version 8.0.3, in regards to the purpose extensions of a certificate.

Incorrect queue manager CCSID when using ja_JP.SJIS locale on NSX

This issue is fixed in Version 8.0.1


Migrating queue managers from IBM MQ Version 5

T1280 PUT library defect affects MQ V8.0.0 queue managers
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Queue managers from IBM MQ Version 8.0.1 are not affected by this HPE defect.



LIMITATIONS AND KNOWN PROBLEMS FOR VERSION 8.0.0

Incorrect queue manager CCSID when using ja_JP.SJIS locale on NSX
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The symptoms of this problem are an abend occurring when a queue manager is stopped using endmqm.
This affects ja_JP_SJIS and other non-latin codesets.

Need for latest migration utility when migrating queue managers from IBM MQ version 5
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you are running an IBM MQ v5.3.1 Queue Manager at a FixPack level greater than v5.3.1.12,
and you wish to migrate it to IBM MQ v8, you must follow these steps:

For fixpack 13:
Download IBM MQ 5.3.1 fixpack 14 and extract opt/mqm/mig/amqmexpc into the local migration
toolset directory.

For fixpack 14:
Extract opt/mqm/mig/amqmexpc into the local migration toolset directory.


T1280 PUT library defect affects MQ v8.0.0 queue managers
-----------------------------------------------------------
 
A defect in the T1280 PUT (pthreads) library shipped with J06.21, L17.02 and L17.08 RVUs,
can cause serious failures in IBM MQ v8.0.0 queue managers.
 
Genesis solution 10-170906-4909

HPE GNSC is planning fixes via the following TCFs

     T1280L01-ABP for TNS/X
     T1280H02-ABO for TNS/E
 
 
Customers using IBM MQ v8.0.0 with the affected RVUs, or planning to upgrade to the
affected RVUs, should contact GNSC quoting the above Genesis solution for advice.
