Abstract

Instructions on how to upgrade the software for IBM DataPower Operations Dashboard

Content

Software updates for DataPower Operations Dashboard are available from time to time and can include enhancements, security updates, component upgrades, and bug fixes.
Attention: Fix packs apply to only Standard Edition, not Developer (Light) Edition. Fix packs are not cumulative. Therefore, you must install all available fix packs sequentially to be at the latest supported version.

To install a fix pack, complete this procedure. Repeat this procedure each fix pack.
    1. Download the upgrade from the IBM Fix Central website.The download includes the upgrade software as an SFS file and the MD5 has calculation of the SFS file.
      • DPOD-update-version.sfs
      • DPOD-update-version.md5
    2. Access the following directory on the DataPower Operations Dashboard server and upload both files.
        /installs/update/fix/TODO
    3. Run the following command to Install the upgrade.
        MonTierUpdateInstaller.sh -u SFS_file -s MD5_file
      For example, enter the following command on a single line.
        MonTierUpdateInstaller.sh
           -u DPOD-update-1_0_1.sfs
           -s DPOD-update-1_0_1.md5
      Note: You might receive the following messages when you run the command. These messages indicate that the script was updated, but you must run the command again to install the upgrade.
      • INFO File MonTierUpdateInstaller.sh was updated successfully.
      • INFO Important: Run MonTierUpdateInstaller.sh again.
    • When the script is at the correct level, you receive the following prompt. Enter Y to continue, or N to cancel.
      • Software update:
          Do not interrupt during the process.
          Are you sure you want to continue? [y/n]
      ATTENTION: Do not interrupt the upgrade process.
  • When the software update completes, the following messages are written to the console. If you see any error messages, review the log file.
    • Starting software update. Log file is
      /installs/update/fix/logs/montier-update-2016-08-01_16-13-35.log
      Stopping application...
      Application stopped successfully.
      Starting software update...
      Update completed successfully.
      Starting application...
      Application started successfully.
      Update DPOD-update-1_0_1.sfs was installed successfully.
    When the software update level is not compatible with the current system version, you will receive the following message on the console
    • Error: Software update cannot be applied to this system version. Canceling update.
