Additional information
Known problems and their workarounds (if any):

This section outlines the known problems and their workarounds (if any) of the IBM Integration Bus Manufacturing Pack, by component.

  Installation

Symptom:
If you uninstall IBM Integration Bus Manufacturing Pack, the uninstallation seems to be unresponsive for long periods of time. The uninstallation might also seem to be unresponsive while it is reporting that it is removing an item.

Solution:
Wait for the uninstallation to complete. The uninstallation is running normally, but on some machine configurations it might take longer than expected to complete. If the uninstallation is unresponsive and stays on the same panel for longer than 30 minutes, cancel the uninstallation. If any of the following directories or files remain, remove them:

  • On HP-UX: Uninstallation seems to be unresponsive
    • The ManufacturingPack directory, the default location is:

    • /opt/IBM/ManufacturingPack/Version

where Version is the version of IBM Integration Bus Manufacturing Pack.

    • If you installed the "Pattern and nodes for the IBM Integration Toolkit" component, remove the com.ibm.broker.manufacturing.link file, or replace it with a backup. The default location is:

    • /opt/IBM/IntegrationToolkit90/links/com.ibm.broker.manufacturing.link
    • If you installed the "Web user interface and nodes for the Integration Bus component" component, remove the ManufacturingPack_Version file. The default location is:

    • /var/mqsi/common/profiles/ManufacturingPack_Version.sh
where Version is the version of IBM Integration Bus Manufacturing Pack.

IBM Integration Bus

Symptom:
You might see the following error when you start IBM Integration Bus Manufacturing Pack:

Jun 20 10:16:06 host_brokername[9010]: [ID 702911 user.error] IBM Integration Bus v9001 (host) [Thread 34] (Msg 1/1)
BIP3836E: An exception occurred when applying the MQSI_ADDITIONAL_CONTEXT_ROOTS environment variable because
web UI extension '' does not exist.

where host_brokername is the name of your integration node.

Solution:
This error can be safely ignored.

This issue is fixed in IBM Integration Bus Manufacturing Pack Version 1.0.0.1.

  • On UNIX: BIP3836E is seen in the system log when you start the integration node after you install IBM Integration Bus Manufacturing Pack.

Nodes

Symptom:
When the PI-Input node handles a downstream exception and the Catch terminal is not wired, the integration server might generate an abend file and restart.

Solution:
Wire the Catch terminal of the PI-Input node to a valid output node or apply IBM Integration Bus APAR IT02820.

Symptom:
When you are overriding the PI-Read node "Generate Mode" property in the BAR file editor, you do not see a drop-down list from which to select a valid value.

Explanation:
This problem is due to a limitation with the BAR file editor.

Solution:
Enter a valid value manually. The following values are valid: "Message" and "LocalEnvironment". For more information, see PI-Read node in the IBM Integration Bus Manufacturing Pack documentation.

Symptom:
If a message flow that contains an OPC-UA-Input node is included in a BAR file that is built with the "compile and in-line resources" property unselected, any properties that are overridden, either in the BAR file or by running the mqsiapplybaroverride command, are ignored on deployment and no errors are seen.

Solution:
Either build the BAR file with the "compile and in-line resources" option selected, or apply IBM Integration Bus APAR IC98420.

Symptom:
When you are using the MQTT nodes with the activity log enabled, BIP2113E messages might be logged in the system log:

BIP2113 - (integration_node_name) Message broker internal error:
diagnostic information ''handle is null'', ''Connector'', ''writeActivityLog''.

An internal software error has occurred in the message broker.
Further messages will indicate the effect of this error on the broker's transactions.

Shutdown and restart the message broker.
If the problem continues to occur, then restart the system.
If the problem still continues to occur, contact IBM Support.

where integration_node_name is the name of your integration node.

Solution:
Apply IBM Integration Bus APAR IT02690.

  • The integration server abends while it is handling an exception in the PI-Input node.

  • The PI-Read node drop-down list for the "Generate Mode" property is not available in the Broker Archive editor.

  • OPC-UA-Input node property overrides are ignored on deployment.

  • You receive a BIP2113E error while you are using the MQTT nodes with activity log enabled.

Web-based monitoring
  • No known issues
