IBM Support

Single sign-on in the IBM Cognos TM1 Operations Console

Product Documentation

Abstract

Use CAM authentication to use TM1 Operations Console in a single sign-on environment.

Content

A single sign-on provider is a service such as SAML, SiteMinder or CAM Business Intelligence which allows a user to sign on once and use multiple services.

To permit the IBM Cognos TM1 Operations Console to operate in an SSO environment, the CAM system must be configured as single sign-on. See Configuring Cognos Business Intelligence for authentication providers for details on how to set up single sign-on for CAM.

To configure TM1 Operations Console for single sign on,

  1. Go to the PM Hub admin page found at, for example: http://localhost:9510/pmhub/pm/admin.
  2. To configure PM Hub for CAM, use the com.ibm.ba.pm.resource.security node.
  3. To setup the TM1 Operations Console to use single signon, go to the configuration section
    -com.ibm.ba.pm.opsconsole.monitor.tm1.TM1OpsConsoleMonitor
  4. Set the parameter SingleSignOn to true.

When this configuration is complete, if you log onto the TM1 Operations Console when not signed in, you are redirected to the SSO provider's logon page. If you are already authenticated with the SSO provider, you are passed straight into the TM1 Operations Console.

The TM1 Operations Console has been tested with the following SSO providers:
  • SAML
  • SiteMinder
  • CAM BI

Other SSO providers are not supported with TM1 Operations Console.
