Session 1: Planning Considerations
This is the first in a series of three sessions which will cover upgrade considerations for TSM V5 to TSM V6. This session will include the following topics:
• Reasons to make the move to TSM V6 now including a discussion of the TSM V5 end
• An overview of the new features in TSM V6 including Data Deduplication and No
• Some considerations planning the upgrade including upgrade strategies and some examples of customer experiences
• An overview of the TSM V6 education offerings and the upgrade services offerings that are available
Session 2 : Upgrade Details and Operations Center
This is the second in a series of three sessions which will cover upgrade considerations for TSM V5 to TSM V6. This session will include the following topics:
ver upgrade considerations for TSM V5 to TSM V6.
• A detailed technical discussion of the upgrade process which looks at the four upgrade options when using the TSM Upgrade Utility as well as a look at some of the other options for upgrade that do not use the TSM Upgrade Utility
• A technical overview and demonstration of the new TSM Operations Center - the Opereations Center is totally reworked administration GUI for TSM V6
Session 3: Upgrade Demos - This is the third in a series of three sessions which will cover upgrade
considerations for TSM V5 to TSM V6. This session will include the following topics:
• A recorded demo of an upgrade on a Windows platform
• A recorded demo of an upgrade on a Linux platform
• A recorded demo of an upgrade on an AIX platform
** Each of these recorded demos will last 30 minutes
at the appropriate time(s) to see the demos for the platform(s) of interest:
