The list below identifies the supported software options for IBM® Mobile Connect version 6.1.5.

This document provides the supported version information about persistent data storage options, and optional software for Connection Manager and Gatekeeper.

Notes:

  1. On the Connection Manager, the English UTF-8 locale is required for all languages and the localized UTF-8 locale is required for each non-English language that will be used if you want to use national language characters in user IDs or passwords. See the Troubleshooting Guide for more detail on supported locales.

Software Component requirements
Data storage - Relational DataBase (RDB)
  • A relational database server:
    • DB2 Universal Database 9.8
    • DB2 Universal Database 9.7**See Notes
    • DB2 Universal Database 9.5
    • DB2 Express-C 9.5
    • DB2 Universal Database™ 9.1
    • DB2 Express-C 9.1
    • DB2 Universal Database™ Express Edition 9.1
    • Oracle 9.0.1, 9.2.0.1, or 9.2.0.2, with the DataDirect Connect ODBC Version 5.3
    • Oracle 10g Release 1 or 10g Release 2, with the DataDirect Connect ODBC Version 5.3
      (Support for DataDirect drivers)
    • Microsoft® SQL Server 2005 Standard and Express
    • Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Standard and Express
    • Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Standard and Express
  • Notes:
    • When using DB2 to store session data, an open database connectivity (ODBC) relational database (RDB) client must be installed.
    • If using DB2 9.7 Client image on a 64 bit Windows OS, please install at least Fix Pack 6 to avoid an install verification check failure while running the database create wizard.
    • Support is only for DataDirect ODBC Oracle Wire Protocol Driver. No support is offered for the Client Mode Driver.
    • For DB2, the Instance Wizard is required by Connection Manager for the correct installation and configuration of the DB2 database instance. The Instance Wizard can only be installed from the DB2 Administration Client or from the Application Development Client software packages. When using DB2 with Connection Manager, make sure to install either the DB2 Administration Client or Application Development DB2 Client.
    • If more than one database client is installed, DB2 is used by default.
    • Oracle is not a supported relational database when used with the Windows based Connection Manager. It is supported with Linux, AIX and Solaris Connection Managers.
Data storage - LDAP
  • IBM Tivoli® Directory Server 5.2
  • IBM Tivoli Directory Server 6.0
  • IBM Tivoli Directory Server 6.2
  • IBM Tivoli Directory Server 6.3
Data Storage - Local File System
  • Choose this option only when you plan on using the Connection Manager in a proof-of-concept environment where you would have less than 100 users. This choice is made when you initially configure the access manager. You cannot use this choice for storing accounting and billing records.
  • Local File System Option is NOT supported on 64-bit Windows Servers
Secondary Authentication - LDAP-Bind
  • You can perform LDAP-bind Secondary Authentication using any version 3 LDAP-compliant server such as Microsoft Active Directory, Lotus Domino, IBM Tivoli Directory Server.
Virtualization
  • POWER Hypervisor on AIX, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), SuSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES)
  • VMWare Workstation on Windows, RHEL, & SLES
  • VMware ESXi Server on Windows, RHEL, & SLES
  • VMWare ESX Server on Windows, RHEL & SLES
  • RedHat Xen Virtualization on Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Windows
