Hardware Considerations The following are minimum requirements; actual hardware capacity for acceptable performance depends on many factors, including but not limited to: data volume; service level agreement; and access to non-relational data, as well as the number of open dialogs, number of database tables that are active, and memory demands from other active applications and services. Sizing for the Optim Server depends upon a number of factors and should be reviewed by an Optim specialist prior to deployment. Minimum hardware requirements for an Optim workstation are:

Software Requirements To install the Optim server or the workstation on the database server, client software for the database management system is required. Optim is a 32-bit application, and requires 32-bit DBMS clients. Optim should be installed on a 32-bit platform or on a 64-bit platform that supports 32-bit applications. Platform Considerations

When Open Data Manager is installed on Windows, it requires Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 as a prerequisite. This software can be obtained at: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=ab99342f-5d1a-413d-8319-81da479ab0d7 For older installations on Windows Server 2000, version 2.0 of Microsoft .NET Framework is required. IBM Tivoli License Manager If you use IBM Tivoli License Manager, use the following manual process to activate it for data sources that do not reside on an Optim server or on a z/OS system:
- Locate the set of *.swtag files residing at:
Optim Root\properties\version\
- Copy the *.swtag files to:
\\server root\IBM\InfoSphere\Optim\ITLM on the server hosting the data source.
