Abstract
All versions stated of an environment presume the initial release of a 3rd party product without any need for patches/service packs or equivalent terms unless stated. Equally, unless stated, IBM Cognos presumes that the 3rd party product has not been configured to disable new features (compatibility modes) and that all patches/service packs are upward compatible for our products from the versions stated.
Product names used here may not reflect prior or new product packaging names.

All IBM Cognos BI 10.2 32-bit versions will integrate with 32-bit 3rd party libraries only. IBM Cognos BI 10.2 64-bit installs will integrate with 64-bit Java environments only, other integration points require 3rd party 32-bit libraries.
All references to Windows refer to Windows on x86 or x86-64 architecture.

Software environments for IBM Cognos BI 10.2 are listed as Active, Compatible or Not Supported. Environments denoted as active are environments currently tested by IBM Cognos. Although environments denoted as compatible may also be tested, testing may be limited or support may be based on compatibility statements from IBM Cognos partners and third-party vendors. Older releases of environments may transition from active to compatible over time as significant testing would have occurred in previous IBM Cognos releases.

(1) The Transformer UI is available on Windows platforms only.
(2) Data Manager is not available for the Linux on IBM System z platform. Data Manager has only 32-bit support for Sybase, Essbase and Redbrick. The following RDBMS are supported as read-only: MySQL, Postgres, HP Vertica, Paraccel, EMC Greenplum, Actian Vectorwise, Teradata Aster Data.
(3) Customers using the IQD Bridge installation option for IQD sources should consult the Series 7 Version 4 MR4 supported environments page for the Transformer hosted operating system and its supported data sources.
(4) DB2 10 for z/OS servers running in New Feature mode must have applied the following APAR / PTF fixes: PM47874 / UK75718, PM52410 / UK76353, PM50596 / UK76275, PM57289 / UK76864, PM59899 / TBD.
(5) Oracle 11g Release 1 via Oracle 10g Release 2 client on Linux for System z.
(6) The sources listed have ODBC drivers that conform to at least the ODBC 3.5 specification or higher. There are many data sources not listed which have ODBC connectivity from Windows using ODBC drivers to the 3.5 (or higher) specification. These sources are supported on Windows only but are not actively tested.
(7) PowerCube security sources are limited to the version of Transformer being used and by the target platform operating system hosting the Content Manager component.
(8) The dynamic query mode is recommended for new applications of IBM Cognos Business Intelligence. When leveraged from a 64-bit install, DQM will leverage 64-bit connectivity to the data source where available.
(9) Connectivity to an RDBMS in the dynamic query mode requires a type 4 JDBC driver.
(10) The IMS server must have applied fixes for APARs PM65139 and PM69378.
(11) The dynamic query mode is recommended for new applications of IBM Cognos Business Intelligence.
(12) Connecting to DB2 on z/OS, the driver version must be at least JCC 3.7 (from DB2 9.1 for LUW Fix Pack 5+) or JCC 3.42 (from DB2 9.5 for LUW Fix Pack 2).
(13) The JSQLConnect JDBC Driver is bundled with the product for use with IBM Cognos BI 10.2 and Microsoft SQL Server products only.
(14) PowerCube security sources are limited to the version of Transformer being used and by the target platform operating system hosting the Content Manager component.
(15) The only version of Firefox that IBM actively supports is the Extend Support Version of Firefox ESR 17 (see http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/). If customers use the non-ESR version of Firefox (version 11, 12, 13,…) it is our best estimation that changes in the current and future versions of the Firefox browser will not cause issues with our product used as long as Mozilla does not remove, explicitly or inadvertently disable functionality that the browser based tools rely on. However we recommend that you contact IBM support if you do encounter any such issues. For browser levels higher than the levels that have been certified with Cognos BI, Customer Support will accept usage-related and defect-related service requests. As with operating system and virtualization environments, if IBM support cannot recreate the issue in our lab, we may ask the Cognos BI customer to recreate the problem on a certified browser.
(16) A plugin to view or save as MHT web archive files such as UnMHT is required for Active Report in Firefox.
(17) Exports targeting previous Excel versions such as Excel 2003 or Excel 2007 can be opened in Excel 2010.
(18) Fix 3.0.1.0-LC-Multi-SEARCH-CRLO61763 is required.
(19) IFixLO56863 and IFix LO60522 are required.
(20) Supported only in compatibility mode.
(21) If running IBM Cognos 10 BI Server 10.2 and IBM Cognos SDK 10.2, SDK DLLs compatible with Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 are only included after applying the following APAR / PTF fixes: PM75475.
