Support for Back Release Versions of i2 Software
Back releases will be available from an IWM (IBM Web Membership) i2 Back Release Software site.. It’s important to note that the ability to obtain heritage software releases applies only to existing IBM i2 Intelligence Analysis customers and partners. New customers as of May 1, 2012 will not have access to back releases. Clients must purchase current products and download entitled software via IBM standard fulfillment processes.
Which Back Releases of i2 Software are Available on this Download Site?
Back releases of i2 Intelligence Analysis products in English and language translations are available on the IWM site. Refer to the chart below for details. Back releases of COPLINK products are unavailable and will not be downloadable. After May 1, 2012, current releases of IBM i2 products will not be added to the back release site as newer versions are made available
License Keys for Back Releases
Customers that remain on back releases of the i2 Intelligence products that require software license keys or dongles will have the ability to download generic keys by product from the back release site. The generic software license keys will work in all cases where the customer may have previously used a dongle as far back as i2 Analyst’s Notebook V7. For additional information regarding IBM i2 license keys, see IBM i2 Product License Keys.
How Do Customers Obtain Heritage Releases of i2 Software from the i2 Back Release IWM site?
The IWM site for i2 back releases provides customer registration and authentication services. Other standard features include:
- Access control to a secure site for external users
- Export control
- Display of appropriate download license agreements
- Download packaging
Existing partners and customers who require access to back releases should be encouraged to migrate to the IWM site as soon as possible. Customers of Business Partners do not have access to IWM. Business Partners will download the entitled back release software from IWM on behalf of the customer.
The Customer Experience on the i2 Back Release Software IWM Site
Beginning May 1, 2012, existing customers and business partners who need older versions of IBM i2 software should be directed to the i2 Back Release Software site. First time users will need to set up an IBM User ID at this URL, My IBM Registration site. They will then request an access key in order to logon to the back release site. The link to request an access key is i2 Back Release Software Request.
Customers will complete the registration form by replying to several questions to determine which back release software they are entitled to download. When they submit the form, an email will be sent to an i2 back release site administrator who will create the access key and email it to the customer or business partner along with the link to the i2 Back Release Software. The customer will go to this URL and enter their access key to download back release software
Once a customer or business partner has been given access to the IWM site, they will see a list of all back release products to which they are entitled (i.e. products for which they had an active support agreement at Transfer of Business (May 1,2012). If a customer or business partner believes they are entitled to a back release that is not listed on the site, they should contact the i2 Back Release site administrator at firstname.lastname@example.org.
To download a back release, a customer or business partner selects a product from the list and a page will display a selection of product versions and languages depending on the available configurations for an offering. The customer or partner selects the files they want to download. They will be asked to review and confirm their acceptance of the license agreement.
Customers and business partners can choose to do a standard HTTP transfer, or use Download Director. Download Director is a download manager which supports multiple file downloads, and can resume an interrupted download.
