TM1 9.5.2 FP2 and 10.1 FP1 - Running TM1 Web on .NET Framework 4

Procedure for Internet Information Services 5 or 6

Follow these steps to enable your TM1 Web installation to run on .NET Framework 4 when using Internet Information Information Services 5 or 6.

1. Download and install the .NET Framework 4 on the web server you use to deliver TM1 Web. The .NET Framework 4 Web Installer is available on the microsoft.com web site.
2. Open the Internet Information Services (IIS) console on the web server.
3. Expand the list of web sites in the IIS console navigation pane.
4. Right-click TM1 Web, then click Properties.
5. Click the ASP.NET tab on the TM1Web Properties window.
6. Select 4.x.xxxxx from the ASP.NET version list.
7. Click OK to close the TM1Web Properties window.
8. Open the Web.config file for your TM1 Web installation.
   
   The default location of Web.config in TM1 9.52 FP2 is C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\TM1Web\.
   
   The default location of Web.config in TM1 10.1 FP1 (x64) is C:\Program Files\ibm\cognos\tm1_64\TM1Web\.
   
   The default location of Web.config in TM1 10.1 FP1 (x86) C:\Program Files\ibm\cognos\tm1\TM1Web\.
   
9. Search for '.NET 4' in Web.config. The first occurrence of '.NET 4' is a reference to the TM1 9.5.2 FP2 documentation. Ignore this occurrence of '.NET 4'.
10. Search again for '.NET 4'. All subsequent occurrences of '.NET 4' will be in lines that instruct you on how to modify Web.config to use .NET Framework 4. Follow these instructions throughout the Web.config file. There are six occurrences of '.NET 4' in instruction lines, and six attendant modifications you must make to the Web.config file.
11. Save the modified Web.config file.

1. Download and install the .NET Framework 4 on the web server you use to deliver TM1 Web. The .NET Framework 4 Web Installer is available on the microsoft.com web site.
2. Open Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager on your web server.
3. Click TM1Web application in the Connection pane.
4. Click Basic Settings... in the Actions pane.
5. On the Edit Application window, click Select next to the Application Pool box.
6. On the Select Application Pool window, choose ASP.NET v4.0 from the Application Pool list.
7. Click OK to close the Select Application Pool window.
8. Click OK to close the Edit Application window.
9. Open the Web.config file for your TM1 Web installation.
   
   The default location of Web.config in TM1 9.52 FP2 is C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\TM1Web\.
   
   The default location of Web.config in TM1 10.1 FP1 (x64) is C:\Program Files\ibm\cognos\tm1_64\TM1Web\.
