IBM WebSphere Transformation Extender is continuing to support the WebSphere Transformation Extender E-mail and FTP Adapters; both adapters are no longer deprecated. This is due to their mapping flexibility and widespread usage in existing maps. You can continue to use these adapters as well as the WebSphere Adapter alternatives, WebSphere Adapter for Email and WebSphere Adapter for FTP.

When Standards Processing Engine (SPE) is installed on WebSphere Transformation Extender, you can use WebSphere Transformation Extender maps to de-envelope, transform, and envelope documents and to validate document compliance with data standards. You install SPE on Design Studio to test and deploy WebSphere Transformation Extender maps, Sterling B2B Integrator maps, XSLT maps, XML schemas, and DTDs on SPE.
