Abstract
You read in a document related to WebSphere MQ Classes for JMS or WebSphere Application Server (WAS), such as a technote or an APAR, that an environment variable needs to be set for the Java™ Virtual Machine (JVM) under the application server.
How do you configure such a variable?
Content
Some examples of such variables are (this is not an exhaustive list):
java.library.path (for specifying the MQ Native Libraries path)
com.ibm.mq.jms.tuning.startupReconnectionRetryCount
com.ibm.mq.jms.tuning.eoqTimeout
com.ibm.mq.tuning.socketGrainTimeout
com.ibm.mq.jms.tuning.QATVersion
com.ibm.msg.client.wmq.overrideProviderVersion
There are 2 methods. If the document explicitly mentions one of the methods, then follow that one.
++ Method 1 - How to modify "Generic JVM arguments" field for a WAS server.
Servers-> Application Servers (from the left hand menu) then select:
<server name> -> Java and Process Management -> Process definition -> Java Virtual Machine -> Generic JVM arguments
++ Method 2 - Custom Properties
Servers-> Application Servers (from the left hand menu) then select:
<server name> -> Java and Process Management -> Process Definition -> Java Virtual Machine -> Custom Properties
The included PDF shows snapshots of the screens found during the step-by-step process.
