| Question: What does it mean when I see "NOTICE: IBM Support Assistant is being started..." while starting the server? Answer: Prior to IBM Support Assistant 5 Beta 3 you had to use Installation Manager to install, update, and uninstall problem determination tools. Beta 3 introduces a new Tools Administration feature that lets you manage your problem determination tool installations without running the Installation Manager client. The Tools Administration feature uses the Installation Manager repository, so you must run IBM Support Assistant with the same ID you used to install it with Installation Manager. For example, if you ran Installation Manager with an ID with administrator privileges to install IBM Support Assistant, then the Support Assistant must run under the same ID. Similarly, if Installation Manager was run with a standard user ID then IBM Support Assistant must be run under the same standard user ID. |
