Networking
For the data network between the IBM zEnterprise System and the Netezza appliance, a dedicated physical network connection is required.Minimum network configuration
The minimum network configuration is only supported for Test and Development scenarios without any high availability requirements. This configuration should not be used in a production environment. Software requirements
See the following sections for information about the software that is required to run IBM DB2 Analytics Accelerator for z/OS.Operating systems

Database management software
Use one of the supported database management systems on your System z server as indicated in the following table. Make sure that required program temporary fixes (PTFs) and features are installed. Optional features are marked as such.To assist you in determining if you have the recommended service for IBM DB2 Analytics Accelerator for z/OS, V2.1 installed on your system, you can use the SMP/E REPORT MISSINGFIX command in conjunction with FIXCAT HOLDDATA as follows:
- Acquire and RECEIVE the latest HOLDDATA file onto your z/OS system. Use your normal service acquisition portal or download the two (2) year HOLDDATA file directly from http://service.software.ibm.com/holdata/390holddata.html. Ensure you select Full from the Download NOW column (last 730 days) to receive the FIXCAT HOLDDATA, as the other files do not contain FIXCAT HOLDDATA.
- Run the SMP/E REPORT MISSINGFIX command on your z/OS systems and specify Fix Category (FIXCAT) IBM.Device.Appliance.Netezza-1000.IDAA.V2R1. The report will identify any missing PTFs associated with that category on that system. - Periodically you should acquire the latest HOLDDATA file and rerun the REPORT MISSINGFIX command to determine if there are any new recommended PTFs for IBM DB2 Analytics Accelerator for z/OS, V2.1.

IBM DB2 Analytics Accelerator for z/OS
Install the IBM DB2 Analytics Accelerators software and apply the latest DB2 Analytics Accelerator PTFs in addition to the DB2 for z/OS PTFs. The DB2 Analytics Accelerator PTFs include the DB2 Analytics Accelerator libraries and stored procedures.

IBM DB2 Analytics Accelerator Studio
IBM DB2 Analytics Accelerator Studio is the graphical administration interface for the product and is delivered on the product DVD. It consists of a set of Eclipse plug-ins that are added to IBM Data Studio Administration Client 3.1.1.
IBM DB2 Analytics Accelerator Studio (client) must be at the same or newer level as the DB2 Analytics Accelerator Software (server). It is recommended to upgrade the client first. You can use a Version 3 client to connect to a version 2 server

Instead of installing IBM DB2 Analytics Accelerator Studio from the product DVD, you can also add the plug-ins to an existing IBM Data Studio 3.1.1 Administration Client or IBM Data Studio 3.1.1 Full Client installation. Both IBM Data Studio products are free of charge and can be downloaded from here
In addition, you can install the plug-ins into a shell-sharing environment. Shell-sharing means that several products share the same Eclipse instance. The following combinations are supported:
- IBM Optim™ Query Workload Tuner 2.2.1 plus IBM Optim Database Administrator 2.2.3
- IBM DataStudio 2.2.1.1 IDE plus IBM Optim Query Workload Tuner 2.2.1
- IBM DataStudio 2.2.1.1 IDE plus IBM Optim Database Administrator 2.2.3

Running IBM DB2 Analytics Accelerator Studio Studio on Linux
IBM DB2 Analytics Accelerator Studio uses the Eclipse SWT Browser Control for some Software Update dialogs.
To run IBM DB2 Analytics Accelerator Studio on Linux you must therefore install a compatible Mozilla/XulRunner. IBM DB2 Analytics Accelerator Studio 3.1 supports
Mozilla 1.4 GTK2 - 1.7.x GTK2, XULRunner 1.8.x - 1.9.x and 3.6.x (but not 2.x), WebKitGTK+ 1.2.x
