New features and enhancements description
WebSphere DataPower Integration Appliances release 4.0.2 offers the following new features and enhancements and resolved APARs.
For more information, see the referenced topics in the WebSphere DataPower Integration Appliances Version 4.0.2 Information Center available from the DataPower documentation portal.
Standby Control enhancements
- Supports the ability to perform Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) based takeovers, instead of MAC based takeovers, using a network setting that is enabled by default.
- Adds the ability for a newly active Application Optimization (AO) self-balancing standby control group member to rebuild the correct connection table after a standby control takeover. This allows self-balanced TCP connections to continue after a standby control takeover.
Service Level Monitors
- Supports the ability to configure a Service Level Monitor (SLM) policy to place limits on both transactional concurrency and an arbitrary resource object. This feature allows setting an SLM threshold level value to specify the number of concurrent transactions that are allowed at a time before the administrative action occurs. For more information, see the information center section on SLM and threshold interval types.
- Supports the ability to determine the return value from an SQL stored procedure when the data source is a DB2 database. The sql-execute extension element captures the integer value returned in the form of an output parameter. For more information, see the information center for the syntax of the sql-execute extension element and an example.
- On appliances with the DataGlue feature, supports 18-digit precision in both the request and response directions when processing numeric values from COBOL Copybook to XML. This 18-digit precision support is now also available with Contivo Analyst generated flat file descriptor (FFD) files. To maintain that precision inside a stylesheet, use the DataPower xs:decimal feature.
Enhanced security features
- Tivoli Security Policy Manager
Support TSPM 220.127.116.11 method of policy distribution. For more information, see "Distributing the Tivoli Security Policy Manager policy to the DataPower PDP" in the information center.
Support the use of Kerberos token for map credentials and Authorization stages of AAA. For more information, see "Resolving roles with credential mapping" in the information center.
For a list of the APARs that WebSphere DataPower Integration Appliances release 4.0.2 has resolved, see resolved APARs.
