Abstract

This document contains Linux® on Power® system requirements for IBM® WebSphere® Virtual Enterprise Version 7.0.

This document describes the minimum product levels that need to be installed before opening a problem report with the WebSphere Virtual Enterprise Support team. Because other products frequently ship fixes, updates, and new releases, testing every configuration is not possible. In general, you can install and run with updates to supported products if those updates are forward compatible. For additional information about available support for configurations that are not included in the following list, refer to support article, WebSphere Application Server has grown and so have your requirements.


Operating Systems
supported with WebSphere Virtual Enterprise		 When running the product with 32-bit WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment Version 7.0.0.x:
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS Version 4 with Update 6
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux Version 5 with Update 1
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux Version 6 (See Required Details 1)
  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server Version 9 with SP4
  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server Version 10 with Update 1
  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server Version 11 (See Required Details 2)

When running the product with 64-bit WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment Version 7.0.0.x:
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS Version 4 with Update 6
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux Version 5 with Update 1
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux Version 6 (See Required Details 1)
  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server Version 9 with SP4
  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server Version 10 with Update 1
  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server Version 11 (See Required Details 2)
Hardware Requirements 32-bit and 64-bit WebSphere Virtual Enterprise
  • IBM POWER® family of processors or IBM BladeCenter® (32-bit and 64-bit)
  • Minimum 1,231 MB available disk space for installation (32-bit application server); 1,262 MB recommended for 64-bit application server
  • Minimum 512 MB physical memory (32-bit); 1 GB recommended
  • DVD-ROM drive
Software Requirements To run the WebSphere Virtual Enterprise controller, your system must contain WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment Version 7.0.0.17 or later.
    The WebSphere Virtual Enterprise node is supported in WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment environments and other middleware server environments.

    Supported Levels of Integration Software
    • IBM License Metric Tool (LMT) Version 7.2
    • IBM DB2® Version 9.1
    • IBM Derby SDK Version 10.3
