Abstract
This Support Technical Exchange is designed to offer diagnostic approaches for COBOL application storage overlays within CICS Transaction Server for z/OS (CICS TS). These approaches include using CICS dumps with and without an active trace. CICS, Language Environment (LE), and COBOL storage areas, control blocks, and diagnostic methods are also reviewed. This presentation was created at the CICS TS 4.1 level, but most of the information still applies; however some offsets might have changed. For example, TCACAAAD that addresses the CAA is now at offset x'17C' in CICS TS 4.2.
