Abstract

This document is designed to help implement security on the Base Services platform, (for Maximo EAM implementations read “maximo 7” for Base Services platform) given the new functionality and the added complexity that goes with this. The Base services documentation is also designed to give direction when implementing security in order to ensure that the approach to security is not piecemeal, which will result in a long and confused implementation. This document is not a substitute for the security documentation online help or other documents, such as the System Administrators guide, all of which should be understood first before implementing any of the approaches discussed below.
