Abstract

The IBM® Support Assistant Lite & IBM Support Assistant Data Collector tools for WebSphere® Portal provide automatic data collection and symptom analysis support for WebSphere Portal problem determination scenarios.

The IBM Support Assistant Lite & IBM Support Assistant Data Collector tools for WebSphere Portal are provided as aids for troubleshooting WebSphere Portal. The tools focus on automatic data collection and provide symptom analysis support for WebSphere Portal Problem Determination Scenarios. Information pertinent to a problem scenario is collected and analyzed to help identify the origin of the problem being encountered.


The ISA Lite & ISADC tools for WebSphere Portal benefit customers by reducing the amount of time it takes to reproduce a problem with the proper Reliability, Availability and Serviceability (RAS) tracing levels set (trace levels are set automatically by the tools). The tools also reduce the effort required to send the appropriate diagnostic data to IBM support. In addition, the tools perform symptom analysis to help streamline the problem determination process.
