Abstract
Web User Interface is available in several configurations designed to meet a wide range of customer requirements. Since different actors are involved in the infrastructure (ITCM, Websphere, optionally Tivoli Access Manager) understanding the role of each of them in the complete flow is one of the focal points in the troubleshooting process.
What is described in this field guide is valid for both 4.2.2 and 4.2.3 releases.

In this chapter, we start describing the different components involved and review what happens behind the scenes during four different phases:
· Tivoli Administrator publishes an ITCM object using the web command.
· Web Client gets the list of available web objects.
· Web Client executes an operation.
· Operation results return to the TMR server.
