Abstract

This interim fix solves issues mentioned in APAR IV96225 and IJ00241.

APAR IV96225:

Users are not able to open portlets with applets (e.g. AEL, EventDashboard, Map, Map Editor, etc.) on WEBGUI 7.4.0 using Oracle java 1.8 update 131. Java console was showing below errors:

"The following resource is signed with a weak signature algorithm MD5withRSA and is treated as unsigned"

APAR IJ00241:

Java applets code signing certificate is about to expire on 26 Feb 2018.

Prerequisites

This interim fix requires the 7.4.0 Fix Pack 7 release.

Installation Instructions

The included fix is based on WebGUI 7.4.0 FP7 (7.4.0.7) and should only be used with this release.

The included ZIP file contains modified versions of the following files:

- version.jar (1), which should replace the existing copy located at
$TIPHOME/profiles/TIPProfile/installedApps/TIPCell/isc.ear/OMNIbusWebGUI.war/WEB-INF/lib/

- version.jar (2), which should replace the existing copy located at
$TIPHOME/profiles/TIPProfile/installedApps/TIPCell/isc.ear/OMNIbusWebGUI.war/classes/

- applets.jar, which should replace the existing copy located at
$TIPHOME/profiles/TIPProfile/installedApps/TIPCell/isc.ear/OMNIbusWebGUI.war/classes/

- dci-logging.jar, which should replace the existing copy located at
$TIPHOME/profiles/TIPProfile/installedApps/TIPCell/isc.ear/OMNIbusWebGUI.war/classes/

- editor.jar, which should replace the existing copy located at
$TIPHOME/profiles/TIPProfile/installedApps/TIPCell/isc.ear/OMNIbusWebGUI.war/classes/

- icu4j-54_1_1.jar, which should replace the existing copy located at
$TIPHOME/profiles/TIPProfile/installedApps/TIPCell/isc.ear/OMNIbusWebGUI.war/classes/

- jaxen-core.jar, which should replace the existing copy located at
$TIPHOME/profiles/TIPProfile/installedApps/TIPCell/isc.ear/OMNIbusWebGUI.war/classes/

- nova.jar, which should replace the existing copy located at
$TIPHOME/profiles/TIPProfile/installedApps/TIPCell/isc.ear/OMNIbusWebGUI.war/classes/

- saxpath.jar, which should replace the existing copy located at
$TIPHOME/profiles/TIPProfile/installedApps/TIPCell/isc.ear/OMNIbusWebGUI.war/classes/

- version.jar, which should replace the existing copy located at
$TIPHOME/profiles/TIPProfile/installedApps/TIPCell/isc.ear/OMNIbusWebGUI.war/classes/

where $TIPHOME is the root TIP installation directory.

The steps for installing the fix on a Unix platform are listed below:

  1. Stop the TIP server
    eg. $TIPHOME/bin/stopServer.sh server1
  2. Move to the TIP home directory
    eg. cd $TIPHOME
  3. Take a backup of the existing files which are to be replaced
    eg. zip -r APAR_IV96225_IJ00241_bak profiles/TIPProfile/installedApps/TIPCell/isc.ear/OMNIbusWebGUI.war/classes profiles/TIPProfile/installedApps/TIPCell/isc.ear/OMNIbusWebGUI.war/WEB-INF/lib/version.jar
  4. Copy the test fix files to the TIP home directory
    eg. cp APAR_IV96225_IJ00241_files.zip $TIPHOME
  5. Unzip the test fix files, opting to replace existing files
    eg. unzip APAR_IV96225_IJ00241_files.zip
  6. Restart the TIP server
    eg. $TIPHOME/bin/startServer.sh server1

Verifying The Fix

1. Log onto TIP.
2. Verify the WebGUI version is "IBM Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus V7.4.0.7_IV96225_IJ00241 Web GUI build 01"
3. Verify WebGUI applet based portlets open successfully.
