Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus 7.4.0 Fix Pack 14, 7.4.0-TIV-NCOMNIbus-FP0014

Download

Abstract

This fix pack is a cumulative fix release and addresses APARs and internally found issues since the release of OMNIbus 7.4.0 fix pack 13.

Download Description

The following defect solutions are included in this release:

7.4.0-TIV-NCOMNIbus-FP0014
--------------------------

IV87273
A new informational log message has been added to the gateway
logging code to expose the internal cache sizes. Gateway
behaviour is not modified.

IV93678
OMNIbus would not run correctly under Linux v4 kernels. This
problem is now fixed. The fix relies on backwards binary
compatibility.

IV95095
While a probe is running with raw capture turned on, the last
record in the raw capture file might incomplete. To fix this
issue, each probe raw capture record is now explicitly flushed to
disk.

IV93957
Probes that connect to an ObjectServer which has reached its
table store soft limit can fail to disconnect and reconnect
properly. This failure results in the probe permanently remaining
in SAF mode. This issue is now resolved.

IV96149
The values of tokens/elements set by the "eventfactory" URI of
the probe HTTP interface were not being logged in the probe log
file. This issue is now resolved.

IV96183
JSON strings that contain % characters sent to the "eventfactory"
URI of the probe HTTP interface might be corrupted. This issue is
now resolved.

IV96150
Raw Capture was not written out for events that are received by
the "eventfactory" URI of the probe HTTP interface. This issue is
now resolved.

IV90338
A new ProbeWatch alert is automatically generated whenever a
probe fails over from slave to master mode and vice versa in a
peer-to-peer setup. ProbeWatch alerts from probes running in
slave mode are no longer cached and discarded but are forwarded
on to the ObjectServer. An example about how to process the new
ProbeWatch failover alerts is available in
OMNIHOME/extensions/probewatch/probefailover.include.

IV90179
Gateways could grow unbounded in memory due to entries not being
correctly removed from its internal journal cache. This problem
is now fixed.

IV94202
To address possible security issues, the JRE for Tivoli
Netcool/OMNIbus V7.4.0 is updated to IBM JRE 6.0 SR16 FP45.

IV76852
The ObjectServer can core dump when processing an 'ALTER TABLE'
SQL statement. This core dump can occur if multiple varchar
columns are added or dropped and a trigger exists with an action
containing a 'FOR EACH ROW' loop that iterates over the altered
table. This issue is now resolved.
