The Addons package contains files that may be required by some third-party applications. Only download and install the Addons package if instructed by your application provider.

Installation instructionsNote: The "addons" tarball includes the static libraries for linking object code without a compiler, and also includes the XL Fortran for Linux Runtime Environment packages. If you only need to run applications built with the XL Compilers, install only the Runtime Environment packages. To install the Addons package on either little endian or big endian systems, complete the following steps:
Uninstallation InstructionsTo uninstall the Addons package and the Runtime environment on little endian systems, run the following commands: To uninstall the Addons package and Runtime environment on big endian systems, run the following commands: In cases where a package is required by other installed packages, that package might not uninstall. |

The IBM XL Fortran Addons for Linux is not supported as a stand-alone software product.
If you suspect a problem with the IBM XL Fortran Addons while using it with a third-party application, contact your application provider for support.
Full support (installation, defect support and general questions) for the IBM XL Fortran Runtime environment component is available with the software subscription and support agreement for the XL Fortran for Linux product.
