IBM InfoSphere Information Server, Version 11.5.0.1 (Fix Pack 1)

Information Server 11.5.0.1 may be downloaded from Fix Central using the link in the Download package section of this document. Within Fix Central, choose the package for the platform on which your services and engine tiers are installed. Fix Central will automatically determine the proper requisite packages you need, including those packages that are necessary for the client tier.
11.5.0.1 may be installed as a Fix Pack to existing Information Server 11.5.0.0 environments. 11.5.0.1 is also available as a full suite image downloadable from IBM Passport Advantage.

Before installing 11.5.0.1 Fix Pack:

• IBM has identified JR55954 which affects View Data/Test Connection functionality for Connector stages on all Windows client installations. The issue is only seen when applying the original release of the 11.5 Fix Pack 1 .ispkg file to the client tier. The issue is not seen when using the suite image 11.5.0.1 downloadable from Passport Advantage.
  
  This issue has been corrected as part of a re-issued release of 11.5 Fix Pack 1 which was made available June 8, 2016.
  If the re-issued .ispkg package is used there is no need for patch JR55954 to be installed on all client tiers.
  
  The following entries found in Verison.xml will aid customers in determining whether the initial or re-vised FP1 package has been installed.
  
  The original Fix Pack will contain the following entry in Version.xml. Customers will need to apply the patch for JR5594:

  The re-issued release of Fix Pack 1 will contain the following entry in Version.xml. There is no need to apply the patch for JR55994:

• ISF RU1 needs to be installed prior to Fix Pack 1 in order to resolve the issue documented in JR53534
  
• On Unix systems ensure that 'bash' (the GNU Bourne Again shell) is installed before starting this installation. 'bash' should be available from the package management system included with the operating System. For AIX, it is included in the 'Toolbox' CD that came with the Operating System, or it is available for download here:http://www.ibm.com/systems/power/software/aix/linux/toolbox/date.html

• Note for BigIntegrate and BigQuality users (InfoSphere Information Server on Hadoop):

Installing Fix Pack 1 will replace the PXEngine/etc/yarn_conf directory. This means any customization to the configuration file yarnconfig.cfg will be overwritten. The following "Best Practices" should be implemented before installing the Fix Pack to ensure custom configuration changes are not lost:

Move yarnconfig.cfg to $DSHOME (/IBM/InformationServer/Server/DSEngine)
Change the value of APT_YARN_CONFIG to $DSHOME/yarnconfig.cfg

Subsequent updates (new variables, etc) to the yarnconfig.cfg will be shown in the example configuration file, which after the Fix Pack, will be renamed yarnconfig.cfg.default in the PXEngine/etc/yarn_conf directory. The yarnconfig.cfg.default file should be reviewed after the Fix Pack install so any desired variables can be added to the yarnconfig.cfg file in $DSHOME.
