SPSS Analytic Server 1.0.1 Interim Fix installs JRE 6.0.16.20 update to address security vulnerabilities

BY AGREEING, YOU REPRESENT AND WARRANT THAT YOU HAVE FULL AUTHORITY TO ACCEPT THESE TERMS. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THESE TERMS,
- DO NOT DOWNLOAD, INSTALL, COPY, ACCESS, OR USE THE SOFTWARE; AND
- PROMPTLY RETURN THE UNUSED MEDIA AND DOCUMENTATION TO THE PARTY FROM WHOM IT WAS OBTAINED. IF THE SOFTWARE WAS DOWNLOADED, DESTROY ALL COPIES OF THE SOFTWARE.


IBM® SPSS® Analytic Server 1.0.1 - JRE patch (Interim Fix)


Prerequisites:

SPSS Analytic Server - IBM SPSS Analytic Server 1.0.1 must be installed prior to applying this Interim Fix.

Installation Instructions:
-----------------------------------------------
1) Stop Analytic Server (if running)

2) Backup the "[AS_INSTALL_DIR]\jre" directory by renaming "jre" to "jre.bak". This should result in a new "[AS_INSTALL_DIR]\jre.bak" directory

3) Extract the JRE 6.0 SR16-FP20 download package TAR (requisite) into the AS_INSTALL_DIR directory.

4) Edit the JRE 6.0.16.20 /jre/lib/security/java.policy file to change the following line from:

permission java.net.SocketPermission "localhost:0", "listen";

to:

permission java.net.SocketPermission "localhost:1024-", "listen";

5) Copy the jre folder inside the "ibm-java-x86_64-60" directory to the "[AS_INSTALL_DIR]".

6) Start Analytic Server



Uninstall Instructions:
-----------------------------------------------
1) Stop Analytic Server (if running)

2) Delete the "[AS_INSTALL_DIR]\jre" directory

3) Rename the "jre.bak" directory to "jre" which should result in a new "[AS_INSTALL_DIR]\jre" directory

4) Start Analytic Server
