Before upgrading to Tivoli Storage Productivity Center 5.2.5.1, read and understand the information from the following security bulletins:

The following APAR is addressed with the Tivoli Storage Productivity Center 5.2.5.1 fix pack. An updated APAR Fix List with detailed descriptions is available.

This fix pack does not include an update to Tivoli Storage Productivity Center for Replication on z/OS.

Notes:
  • Fix Central is the IBM recommended site for retrieving fixes for most products. Fix Central enables customers to search, select, and download appropriate fixes for their situation. Tivoli Storage Productivity Center 5.2.x fixes are available only from Fix Central.
  • Use the GNU tar program (1.14 or higher) rather than the native AIX tar program to extract files from Tivoli Storage Productivity Center installation images. The AIX tar program can truncate long file names, which may cause errors with the Tivoli Storage Productivity Center application.

Prerequisites

This fix pack is a full version of IBM Tivoli Storage Productivity Center and can be applied as an upgrade to any IBM Tivoli Storage Productivity Center 4.2.2.x, 5.1.x or 5.2.x system. The fix pack media does not include a license key.  You must have a license key to perform a new installation. If you are applying this fix pack as an upgrade, your existing license will be transferred.


Note: The Jazz for Service Management 1.1.0.3 package for use with Tivoli Storage Productivity Center is available from Passport Advantage. See prerequisite link below for required part numbers. This is an optional part.

Please review the limitations and known issues technote prior to applying this fix pack. It contains last-minute information and changes that could not be included in the final product documentation.
