alm00305476 / IV56743
=====================

Short Description: LDAP GROUP NAME BEGIN WITH "#" DOES NOT DISPLAY IN WEBGUI TOOL PAGE

Summary:
The problem is caused by the fact that when a group name contains a # character, VMM returns the CN of the group with a delimiter, and surrounded in double quotation marks eg: CN="\#TestLDAPGroup", rather than just CN=#TestLDAPGroup. If this CN is then used in a VMM search, the search fails. This kind of VMM search is used to find out which users are in a group, and also to determine if the group still exists.
Because the searches fail using CNs with this formatting, DCI thinks that such groups are obsolete and removes them from the list of groups obtained. Hence, they do not appear on the tools page.

If the CN was returned simply as CN=#TestLDAPGroup, then the VMM searches would work, and these groups would not be removed from the results, and should then appear in the tools page.

The fix is to remove the delimiter in string and back to its original value.

alm00317700 / IV74047
=====================
Short Description:DEPENDENTCY FILTER DIDN'T DISPLAY IN THE DEPENDENT FILTER

Summary:
Clicking on the dependent filter in the builder form will not display the dependency, if the dependency was persisted after the dependent filter.

If a dependent filter appears before its dependency(or one/more of its dependencies) in the filter.xml, the dependency cannot be resolved at de-serialization time. This implies both the dependent filter and dependency are retrieved normally, but the dependent filter will not be linked to its dependency. That in turn, implies the dependency will not show in the dependent filter's dependent section in the filter builder, and more importantly, the dependency will not be processed when applying the filter.

It is recommended to upgrade to TIP version 2.2.0.15.
Note: JRE 8 is not supported byWebGUI 7.3.1.8.

This section shows how to install the Fix Pack 8 for IBM Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus Web GUI 7.3.1
The installation has the following stages:

1. Stop the Tivoli Integrated Portal and its associated services.
2. Extract the installation files from the archive.
3. Install the fix pack in silent mode.
4. Restart the Tivoli Integrated Portal server.

Note: See the end of this section for special instructions about how to apply fix packs in load balancing environment.

Terminology:
These instructions use the following terms to refer to directories used during installation:
TIP_HOME Refers to the directory where the Tivoli Integrated Portal is installed.
This directory is known as the Tivoli Integrated Portal home directory.
Examples:
/opt/IBM/tivoli/tipv2 on UNIX environments.
C:\IBM\tivoli\tipv2 on Windows systems.

FP_dir Refers to the temporary directory where you extract the contents of the fix pack's archive.

Workaround for installing IBM Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus Web GUI 7.3.1 FP8 on top of ITNM 3.9
=================================================================
1. Edit <tipv2_home>/profiles/TIPProfile/properties/.tipinfo.properties
2. Change the value "BASE" to "eWAS"

1. Stop the Tivoli Integrated Portal and its associated services
----------------------------------------------------------------
Follow the instructions for your operating system.

Unix-based systems:

1. Log in as an administrator and stop the Tivoli Integrated Portal by entering the following command:

TIP_HOME/bin/stopServer.sh server1 -username <tipadmin> -password <tippass>

2. Wait for 30 seconds for the Tivoli Integrated Portal and its subprocesses to stop.

Windows systems:

1. Log in as a user with administrative privileges.

2. Open the Services control panel by clicking Start-->Control Panel-->Administrative Tools-->Services.

4. Wait 30 seconds for the Tivoli Integrated Portal and its subprocesses to stop.

5. Close the Services control panel.

2. Extract the installation files
---------------------------------
Extract the installation files from their archives, ready to install on your system.

1. Extract all the files from the OMNIbus-v7.3.1-WebGUI-FP8-<platform> archive into a temporary directory (the FP_dir directory).

o The extension for the fix pack's archive is .tar or .zip, depending on the operating system.

o <platform> is a code for the operating system of the machine where you are installing the fix pack.

o On Unix-based systems, use GTAR to extract the archives to avoid any long link problems.

2. Navigate to FP_dir.

3. Install the fix pack in silent mode
--------------------------------------

1. Use sample_response.txt to create a response file. Set up the responses in that file appropriate for your system.

Note that IAGLOBAL_UPDI_HOME_17 variable in response file is commented out. DO NOT uncomment the IAGLOBAL_UPDI_HOME_17 variable and adjust the path UNLESS the installed version of UPDI is 7.0.0.17.

2. Please backup existing version before installing fix pack.

3. Run the installer for the fix pack in silent mode. Use the appropriate command for your operating system:

Unix-based systems:
./install.sh <full_path_JRE> <response file>

Replace <response file> with the name of the response file you created in step 1.
<full_path_JRE> refers to such as /opt/Java/jre (up to but not including the bin directory)
Only IBM JRE 1.6 is supported. Do not specify the path of the JRE that the Tivoli Integrated Portal uses (TIPHOME/java/jre).
A JRE 1.6 that can be used for the Fix Pack installation is in:FP_dir/COI/PackageSteps/WebSphereUPDI/FILES/7.0.0.17-WS-UPDI-LinuxIA32/JDK/jre.pak/repository/package.java.jre/java/jre"

Windows systems:

install.bat <full_path_JRE> <response file>

Replace <response file> with the name of the response file you created in step 1.
<full_path_JRE> refers to such as C:\Java\jre (up to but not including the bin directory)
Only IBM JRE 1.6 is supported.
A JRE 1.6 that can be used for the Fix Pack installation is in: FP_dir\COI\PackageSteps\WebSphereUPDI\FILES\7.0.0.17-WS-UPDI-WinIA32\JDK\jre.pak\repository\package.java.jre\java\jre
