Abstract

These interim fixes address security vulnerabilities found in IBM Cognos Express 9.0, 9.5, 10.1 and 10.2.1.1.

The following interim fixes provide important product security corrections for IBM Cognos Express releases 9.0, 9.5, 10.1 and 10.2.1.1 (i.e. 10.2.1 Fix Pack 1).

  • IBM Cognos Express 32-bit 9.0 Interim Fix 3 (IF3)
  • IBM Cognos Express 32-bit 9.5 Interim Fix 3 (IF3)
  • IBM Cognos Express 64-bit 10.1 Interim Fix 3 (IF3)
  • IBM Cognos Express 64-bit 10.2.1.1 Interim Fix 1 (IF1)

Please refer to the Security Bulletin for more details.

It is recommended that these interim fixes be applied to all applicable IBM Cognos Express installations at your earliest convenience.

Prerequisites

These interim fixes require that one of IBM Cognos Express 9.0, 9.5, 10.1 or 10.2.1.1 (i.e. 10.2.1 Fix Pack 1) is already installed.

Installation Instructions

For the interim fixes that apply to IBM Cognos Express releases 9.0, 9.5 and 10.1, please refer to the install instructions provided in the PDF document included in the downloadable install kit.

For the interim fix that applies to IBM Cognos Express 10.2.1.1:

  1. Verify you are running IBM Cognos Express 10.2.1 Fix Pack 1 by checking the About Box in the Manager page. The version should read 10.2.1.1.
  2. Ensure you have backed up your IBM Cognos Express content.
  3. Create a folder on the Express 10.2.1 server to extract the required install file.
  4. Using your file compress and decompress utility, extract the .tar.gz file in the created folder.
  5. Expand the folder, open the "winx64h" folder, and run "issetup.exe" as Administrator.
  6. Follow the instructions provided in the wizard.

Note - If you are applying both IBM Cognos Express 10.2.1 FP1 and this Interim Fix, please follow all the installation instructions specified for the FP1 fix pack.
