Abstract

IBM Rational ClearCase 8.0.1.3-iFix01 has been made generally available and contains fixes to version 8.0.1.3 including all predecessor fixes.

Important: If you are currently running ClearCase or ClearQuest version 8.0.1.3, any additional fix that you have installed for that version from IBM Technical Support will no longer work after you upgrade to this release.

Installation Manager 1.6.3 or later; Rational ClearCase Version 8.0.1.3

If you plan to use Installation Manager on Solaris, Linux, or AIX in GUI mode, please refer to technote 1330190 for more information.

You must install this update using the Updates Packages wizard in IBM Installation Manager. For information on installing updates, see the topic 'Installing Updates' in the IBM Installation Manager Information Center at http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/install/v1r6/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.cic.agent.ui.doc/topics/t_install_updates.html;.

  • By default, the update is installed from the IBM update repository located on a remote server.

  • It is also possible to download the update and install it locally.


    1. Download the repository from the Download Package table below.


    2. Extract files to a temporary directory. In the IBM Installation Manager, click File > Preferences and add the temporary directory location to the list of repositories.


    3. Use the Update Packages wizard in the Installation Manager to complete the update.


If you are using ClearCase on Oracle Solaris 11, the appropriate GUI packages must be installed for the ClearCase GUIs to operate properly. read technote 1597074 for more information.

The ClearCase Remote Client and CMAPI now support SP800-131 compliance. Custom configuration may be required for integrated environments, for example, with Rational Team Concert with CCRC or with CMAPI applications not using IBM JRE. Refer to technote 1666060 for more information.

For the Rational ClearTeam Explorer and ClearTeam Explorer Extension offerings, use the ccrc.zip and ccrc_extension.zip download packages below. For installation instructions, see ClearCase Information Center.

If you have previously modified the ClearCase default extended naming symbol (@@) on any Windows 64-bit system, review technote 1618052. After upgrading to this release, you will need to reconfigure the symbol's value.

This is a maintenance release. This interim fix addresses a vulnerability in OpenSSL. Review the Security bulletins CVE-2014-0076 and CVE-2014-0160 for more information.

Incomplete: An error in the MDV has not regressed, but does not work as designed.
This includes:

  • Fixed APARs which did not solve the original problem but did not break anything new
  • APARs reporting documentation errors, such as readme errors, that cause problems applying an MDV but do not lead to a regression

Notes:
  • Regression and incomplete APARs are considered fix-in-error or MDV-in-error
  • Definitions above apply only to valid APARs that result in product fixes (APARs returned as working-as-designed are not assessed for being fix-in-error)
  • Issues in major releases due to new functionality do not apply in this definition
