Installation Instructions

Installing the fix pack for Algo One Core

The Algo One Core offering must be installed before you can apply the fix pack.

Before you begin

If Datamart is used, perform these initial steps:
1. Ensure that UDS is running.
2. Export the Datamart package by running exportdb with the --datamart option.

For example, type $SETUP_HOME/bin/exportdb --datamart -U <user> -P <pwd> -R <domain> -S <service> --package <package_filename>

Note: If you have multiple services using Datamart, you run exportdb for each service.

Ensure that the fix pack ZIP file is downloaded and saved to an appropriate location.

Procedure
1. Stop common services.
a. $ALGO_HOME/workflow/bin/stop-algobatchservice
b. $ALGO_HOME/webapps/bin/stop-algowebapps
c. $ALGO_HOME/services/bin/stop-algosecurity
2. Start the IBM Installation Manager.
Note: For Windows, there is no IBM Installation Manager install kit for Algo One Core. Instead, you extract the contents of a ZIP file into your existing ALGO_HOME directory structure.
You must then perform the follow up steps for the installation procedure.
3. For the fix pack, add a repository to the IBM Installation Manager.
a. Select File > Preferences.
b. In Repositories, click Add Repository and then Browse to select the ZIP file of the fix pack that you downloaded previously.
Note: If you previously extracted the ZIP file, then select the repository.config file.
4. Clear the Search Service Repositories check box.
5. Click OK to confirm your changes and exit the Preferences screen.
6. Click Install.
7. Select the fix pack and click Next through the wizard screens until you reach the Summary screen.
8. Click Install.
9. Click Finish to close the wizard.

What to do next

If Datamart is used, perform these follow-up steps:
1. Set up a new standard Algo Database using the Database > Setup Database command in Algo Setup.

See the topics "Entering database information", "Creating the database" , and "Installing database tables into a new database" in the Algo One Core Installation and System Administration Guide for more information on creating and setting up a new Algo Database.
2. Set up a new historical Datamart database using the Database > Setup Datamart command in Algo Setup.

See the topics "Setting up the historical Datamart database" in the Algo One Core Installation and System Administration Guide for more information on creating and setting up a new historical Datamart database.
3. Restart common services. Run these commands:
$ALGO_HOME/services/bin/start-algosecurity -d <security_database_user_id>
$ALGO_HOME/webapps/bin/start-algowebapps
and, if required,
$ALGO_HOME/workflow/bin/start-algobatchservice -U <algosecurity_username> -P <algosecurity_password>
4. Restart UDS by running this command:
$UDS_HOME/bin/start-uds -U <algosecurity_username> -P <algosecurity_password> -R <algosecurity-domain> -S <service_group>
5. Run the importdb tool to import the Datamart packages that you created before you installed the fix pack.
Note: If you created multiple Datamart packages using exportdb, you need to run importdb for each package.
$SETUP_HOME/bin/importdb -U <algosecurity_username> -P <algosecurity_password> -R <algosecurity-domain>
-S <service_group> --package <package_filename> [--alloc <allocation_file>] [--force]

If Datamart is not used, perform these follow-up steps:
1. The fix pack might require updates to Algo One databases. You use Algo Setup to apply database patches.
a. To start Algo Setup, type
$ALGO_HOME/setup/bin/algosetup -c $ALGO_HOME/cfg/ConfigServer.cfg
b. In Algo Setup, select Database > Apply Database Patches to check for available patches and apply these patches.
2. Restart common services. Run these commands:
$ALGO_HOME/services/bin/start-algosecurity
$ALGO_HOME/webapps/bin/start-algowebapps
and, if required,
$ALGO_HOME/workflow/bin/start-algobatchservice -U <algosecurity_username> -P <algosecurity_password>
3. Run the synchronization utility to synchronize RiskWatch metadata with Algo Database.
$AIDB_HOME/bin/RWSynchronizer -U <algosecurity_username> -P <algosecurity_password> -R <algosecurity-domain>
-S <system> --action All

4. Restart UDS by running this command:
$UDS_HOME/bin/start-uds -U <algosecurity_username> -P <algosecurity_password> -R <algosecurity-domain> -S <service_group>
