ERROR DESCRIPTION:
Classloader leak when an application is restarted that
contains a cachespec.xml with a metadatagenerator.
LOCAL FIX:
None
PROBLEM SUMMARY
USERS AFFECTED:
All users of IBM WebSphere Application
Server using a metadatagenerator in the
cachespec.xml.
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
An application classloader leak occurs
when an application is stopped that
includes a cachespec.xml with a
metadatagenerator.
RECOMMENDATION:
None
The cachespec.xml is represented in dynacache by Java objects.
When an application is stopped the Java objects are
unreferenced so they become available for garbage collection.
A reference to the metadatagenerator remains when an
application is stopped and results in the application
classloader leak.
PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
The reference to the metadatagenerator will be nulled so the
application classloader is released.
The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix packs 7.0.0.31, 8.0.0.8, and 8.5.5.2. Please refer to the
