Abstract

This fix pack is a cumulative fix release and addresses APARs and internally found issues since the release of OMNIbus 7.2.1 fix pack 14.

The following defect solutions are included in this release:

IV51638
A relative include statement in the probe rules file causes the
probe parser to look for a file that is relative to the directory
that the rules file is in. On Windows operating systems, an
incorrect relative path can be generated which causes the include
file to fail to load.
For example, assume that the following include is added to a
simnet.rules file in '/rules/directory/simnet.rules':
include "subdir/probewatch.include"
The probe could fail to start and the following error would be
written to the probe log file:
2013-09-23T16:37:10: Error: E-UNK-000-000: Failed to open Rules
file: /rules/directory/simnet.rules\subdir/probewatch.include
This occurs on Windows operating systems only.


IV56421
The following message is issued when running nco_store_resize on
AIX:
Fatal: F-UNK-003-007: Environment variable XPG_SUS_ENV must be
set to "ON"
This problem has been resolved.


IV51848
The GSKit component used by Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus is upgraded to
version 7.0.4.48. This is done to address a potential security
problem that is fixed in this version of GSKit.


IV55408
The JRE for Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus V7.2.1 and V7.3.0 was updated
to IBM JRE 5.0 SR16 FP5 to address possible security issues.


IV56157
Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus 7.2.1 FP14 for Solaris contains incorrect
GSKit libraries. This problem has been resolved.

Prerequisites

This fix pack installs on any GA Release (including previous GA fixpacks) of Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus 7.2.1.

AIX on PowerPC, HP-UX on PA-RISC, Linux on x86, Solaris on SPARC

IMPORTANT: Before installing this fix, ensure that all Tivoli Network
Management applications installed in $NCHOME have been shutdown.

Enter the following command to install this fix interactively, replacing the
<arch> placeholder with the string identifying your platform:

$NCHOME/install/ncisetup -install 7.2.1.15-TIV-NCOMNIbus-<arch>-FP0015.jar

Enter the following command to install this fix non-interactively, replacing
the <arch> placeholder with the string identifying your platform:

$NCHOME/install/ncisetup -install 7.2.1.15-TIV-NCOMNIbus-<arch>-FP0015.jar -silent

HP-UX on Itanium, Linux on System z
===================================

IMPORTANT: Before installing this fix, ensure that all Tivoli Network
Management applications on your computer have been shutdown.

Extract the contents of 7.2.1.15-TIV-NCOMNIbus-<arch>-FP0015.tar
in to a temporary directory.

From within the directory enter the following command to install this fix
interactively, replacing the <arch> placeholder with the string identifying
your platform:

./install.bin

IMPORTANT: Before installing this fix, ensure that all Tivoli Network
Management applications on your computer have been shutdown.

Extract the contents of 7.2.1.15-TIV-NCOMNIbus-win32-FP0015.zip into a temporary
location, and double-click setup.exe to install this fix.
