Version of IBM Installation Manager required: IBM Installation Manager 1.6.2 or later..

Parent release: IBM Rational License Key Server - 8.1.4.

Installation Instructions

Review the installation steps below:

To install the Rational License Key Administrator 8.1.4. iFix01:

  1. Uninstall the previous version of Rational License Key Administrator.
  2. Download and extract the iFix01 package to a temporary directory.
  3. Run the Launchpad program.
  4. From the Launchpad, click Install or Update IBM Rational License Key Administrator.
  5. Run the install.exe file to open IBM Installation Manager.
  6. From the Installation Manager home page, click Install.
  7. From the Install Packages page, select IBM Rational License Key Administrator and click Next.
  8. Accept the license agreement. Click Next.
  9. You can specify the shared resources directory only the first time that you install a package using Installation Manager. Accept the default Shared Resources Directory or enter a different directory. Click Next.
  10. You cannot change the location of the Shared Resources Directory unless you uninstall all packages.
  11. Accept the default installation directory for LKAD or enter a different installation directory. Click Next.
  12. Review the features to install. Select IBM Rational License Key Administrator feature. Click Next. You can install the Rational License Borrow Tool at a later time by using the Modify wizard in Installation Manager.
  13. Review the summary information. Click Install.
  14. Click Finish and close Installation Manager.

Impact Description

This is an interim release of Rational License Key Server 8.1.4. It is applicable only for Rational License Key Administrator (LKAD) which is installed separately on client machines and contains the Borrow tool to borrow licenses.

What's new

The size of Rational License Key Administrator (LKAD) is optimized to 382 MB in the Rational License Key Server 8.1.4 iFix01 release. This iFix is applicable only for the LKAD which is installed separately on client machines. This standalone LKAD is used to configure clients to use single or multiple license servers. It also contains the Borrow tool which enables users to borrow licenses. In RLKS 814 iFix01, the size of the Borrow Tool has been reduced; thereby reducing the overall size of the LKAD installer.
