This fix pack provides important product updates and corrections.

Download Description

Cognos Mobile 10.2.1 FP2 contains both product updates and new features.

The iOS native app for Apple iPhone and Apple iPad is available from the Apple Store. The Android native app is available from Google Play.

Prerequisites

Cognos Mobile 10.2.1.0 and Cognos Business Intelligence 10.2.1.1 must already be installed.

Installation Instructions

Downloading a fix pack

  1. Review the fix pack prerequisites.
  2. Download the appropriate compressed tar file using the links in the Download Package section.
Some browsers might change the downloaded file type from .tar.gz to a file type not recognized by the operating system. To correct this, change the file type back to .tar.gz. Use the Download Director to prevent renaming of files at download.

Installing a fix pack on Linux® or UNIX®
  1. Copy the fix pack to the appropriate operating system.
  2. Change to the directory where you have downloaded the fix pack installation image.
  3. Enter the following command: gunzip <filename> .tar.gz | tar xvf –
  4. If you want to see the version of a component before you install it, unpack the tar file to disk, or read the table of contents of the tar file.
  5. Follow the installation instructions in chapter 3 of the IBM Cognos Mobile Installation and Administration Guide.
Note: GNU Zip can be obtained from www.gzip.org and GNU tar can be obtained from www.gnu.org/software/tar.

Installing a fix pack on Windows®
  1. Change to the directory where you have downloaded the fix pack.
  2. Using your file compression utility, decompress the .tar.gz file. If you are using WinZip® , select the option "use folder names".
  3. If you want to see the version of a component before you install it, unpack the tar file to disk, or read the table of contents of the tar file.
  4. Follow the installation instructions in chapter 3 of the IBM Cognos Mobile Installation and Administration Guide.

Download Package

After upgrading the Cognos Mobile server, all users are required to upgrade the native app on their mobile device. If they have not upgraded, they will see a message advising them to upgrade when they attempt to connect to an upgraded server. The native apps are backward compatible with earlier versions of the Cognos Mobile server, as far back as 10.1.1.

This Mobile server fix pack includes an updated Apple Push Notification certificate. If you do not upgrade the Mobile server, read the following document: IBM Cognos Mobile Apple Push Notification Certificate

This fix pack includes the file up_bisrv_<platform>_10.2.5001.1033_ml.tar.gz. If you have already installed BI 10.2.1 FP2, you do not need this file.
