Special Instructions for RHEL 6
1. Follow the additional installation instructions in technote 1455593: Installation steps for RHEL 6
2. Ensure that the prerequisite 32-bit libstdc++ and glibc-devel packages are installed on your system. These packages are not installed by the default RHEL6 distribution installation. If they are not installed on the target RHEL6 system, running programs compiled with the XL C/C++ compiler may fail. Refer to technote 1455584: Missing libstdc++ and glibc-devel packages on RHEL6 for more information and package installation instructions.
3. Users of XL Compilers on RHEL6.1 may encounter a known linker issue/error related to .toc entries. Please review technote 1568608: Linker errors with XL compiler object files on RHEL 6.1 for more details and solutions.
