Abstract

This document contains runtime components for use with applications developed with IBM XL C/C++ for Linux, V12.1

Download Description

If you wish to run an application developed using the IBM XL C/C++ for Linux, V12.1 compiler, but do not have the corresponding version of compiler or runtime already installed, then you need to install the Runtime Environment package).

Note: Depending on the application, in addition to the Runtime Environment package, you may also need to install the Addons package. The Addons package contains files that may be required by some third-party applications. Only download and install the Addons package if instructed by your application provider.

This update contains the following APAR*:

* Some APARs may have been fixed first in another release of this product. In such cases, fixes have been ported to this release and APAR descriptions have been copied from the original APARs.



Latest updates
It is highly recommended to always use the latest PTF level. Click here for the list of latest product updates for IBM XL C/C++ compilers. If required, the previous PTF (VRMF: 12.1.0.2) can be obtained here.

Prerequisites

Operating system:
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.7 (RHEL 5.7)
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.2 (RHEL 6.2)
- SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 Service Pack 4 (SLES 10 SP4)
- SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 Service Pack 2 (SLES 11 SP2)

Hardware:
You can use any of the IBM Power Systems servers that support the Linux distributions. For a complete list of the IBM Power Systems servers, see http://www.ibm.com/systems/power/hardware/

Disk space:
- Runtime Environment packages: 45 MB

Technical Support

The IBM XL C/C++ for Linux, V12.1 Runtime Environment is not supported as a stand-alone product.

If you suspect a problem with this C++ Runtime Environment while using it with a third-party application, contact your application provider for support.

Full support (installation, defect support, and general questions) for this C++ Runtime Environment is available as part of the software maintenance agreement for the XL C++ Compilers.
