Abstract

This Interim Fix provides updates for IBM Tivoli Business Service Manager 6.1.0 Fix Pack 1 components affected by certificate expiry of 9th June 2013.

This package includes the fixes for IV37777 which was opened to address certificate expiry issues in TBSM 6.1.0 Fix Pack 1. The ITM Certificate used to sign some TBSM Components will expire on the 9th June 2013. The affected components are:
1.0 Tivoli Business Service Manager Common Agent
2.0 National Language Support for the TBSM Common Agent
3.0 Tivoli Business Service Manager Charting jar file

Note: The above components may not be required on all TBSM/ITM systems. The updated Tivoli Business Service Manager Charting jar file must be installed on all TBSM 6.1.0 FP1 systems, but the Agent install is only required if the agent is used. Similarly, the update Agent Lang Pack is only required for non-English Agent support.

1.0 Tivoli Business Service Manager Common Agent

For systems with security policies which require valid certificates,
the TBSM Common Agent must be updated before 9th June 2013. The TBSM
Agent must be re-installed and the Application Suport also re-installed
before that date.

2.0 National Language Support for the TBSM Common Agent

For systems with security policies which require valid certificates,
the Language Pack for the TBSM Common Agent must be updated before
9th June 2013. The Language Pack contains signed jars which will
expire on that date.

3.0 Tivoli Business Service Manager Charting jar file

For systems with security policies which require valid certificates,
the Charting Component jar file for TBSM must be updated before
9th June 2013. The current Charting Component jar (ncChartComponent.jar)
is signed with a certificate which will will expire on 9th June 2013.

The following file is affected (for both Windows and Unix systems)
- ncChartComponent.jar

Installation Instructions


Note: The components below may not be required on all TBSM/ITM systems. The updated Tivoli Business Service Manager Charting jar file must be installed on all TBSM 6.1.0 FP1 systems, but the Agent install is only required if the agent is used. Similarly, the update Agent Lang Pack is only required for non-English Agent support.


Installing the TBSM agent
-------------------------
To install the updated TBSM agent:
1. Download the appropriate agent code for your platform.
2. Untar or unzip the file.
3. Install the agent according to the directions in the TBSM
Installation Guide. This is a complete install package for the TBSM
agent support and can be used for a fresh install of the agent.

Installing the language pack for TBSM 6.1 Common Agent
----------------------------------------------------------
This topic describes how to successfully install the language pack for TBSM
Common Agent using a Windows or UNIX/Linux platform.

Before you begin
To install the language pack, first verify that you have already installed the IBM
Tivoli Monitoring (English) product and a JDK/JRE, and then perform the
following steps. You will receive an error message, and the installation will stop if
the prerequisites are not met.

Note: The language pack is installed on the ITM server, not on the TBSM server.

Procedure
1. The install files are located in NLS.zip. Expand this zip file to create the
following directories: NLS\Agent. The install file are in the Agent sub
directory.

2. Launch the installation program.
a. Execute lpinstaller.bat.
b. Execute lpinstaller.sh -c ITM Home Directory where ITM Home Directory
is the directory where you installed the IBM Tivoli Monitoring product.

3. Select the language of the installer and click OK.
4. Click Next on the Introduction panel.
5. Click Add/Update and click Next.
6. Select the folder in which the National Language Support package
(NLSPackage) files are located.
Note: KR9_NLS.nlspkg is the default stored location.
7. Select the language support for the agent of your choice and click Next.
Note: Hold the Ctrl key while selecting if you want multiple language
supports.
8. Select the languages that you want to install and click Next.
9. Examine the installation summary page and click Next to begin installation.
10. Click Finish after installation completes to exit the installation program.
11. Restart Tivoli Enterprise Portal Desktop Client, Tivoli Enterprise Portal Server,
and/or Eclipse Help Server if they are installed.
12. After installation, reconfigure the TEPS on the TBSM server.

Note: If the agent is installed on Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Server, you
need to install the language pack on both Tivoli Enterprise Portal Server
and Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Server.


Uninstalling the language pack for TBSM Common Agent
--------------------------------------------------------
Use the uninstall program to uninstall the language pack for IBM Tivoli Business
Service Manager Common Agent.

About this task
To uninstall the language pack, follow the steps to invoke the installation package
for the TBSM Common Agent provided in above, but on step 5, select Remove rather than
Add/Update.
Procedure
1. The files are located under \NLS\Agent
2. Launch installation package.
a. Execute lpinstaller.bat.
b. Execute lpinstaller.sh -c ITM Home Directory where ITM
Home Directory is the directory where you installed the IBM Tivoli
Monitoring product.
3. Select the language of the installer and click OK.
4. Click Next on the Introduction panel.
5. Click Remove and click Next.
6. Examine the installation summary page and click Next to begin uninstall.
7. Click Finish after uninstall completes to exit the installation program.

Steps needed to apply ncChartComponent.jar
----------------------------------------------------------
1. Stop both the Data and Dashboard servers.

2. Backup the following files to a safe location (on the Data server):

<installdir>/tbsm/lib3p/ncChartComponent.jar
<installdir>/tipv2/profiles/TBSMProfile/installedApps/TBSMCell/TBSM.ear/ncChartComponent.jar

NOTE: If backing up files onto the same directory, make sure the file extension is changed.

3. Backup the following file to a safe location (on the Dashboard server):

<installdir>/tipv2/profiles/TIPProfile/installedApps/TIPCell/isc.ear/sla.war/WEB-INF/lib/ncChartComponent.jar

NOTE: If backing up files onto the same directory, make sure the file extension is changed.

4. Copy the updated ncChartComponent.jar to these locations:

On the Data server:
<installdir>/tbsm/lib3p/ncChartComponent.jar
<installdir>/tipv2/profiles/TBSMProfile/installedApps/TBSMCell/TBSM.ear/ncChartComponent.jar

On the Dashboard server:

<installdir>/tipv2/profiles/TIPProfile/installedApps/TIPCell/isc.ear/sla.war/WEB-INF/lib/ncChartComponent.jar


5. Start the Data and Dashboard servers.
