SPSS Modeler 15.0 Fix Pack 2 - Professional Components

Download

Abstract

This Fix Pack will upgrade your IBM SPSS Modeler 15.0 installation to IBM SPSS Modeler 15.0 FP2 (15.0.0.2). It applies to IBM SPSS Modeler Professional and IBM SPSS Modeler Premium

Download Description

This Fix Pack provides important product corrections for IBM SPSS Modeler 15.0.

Fix Pack packages are available for IBM SPSS Modeler Professional components from the download table below. Fix Pack packages for the IBM SPSS Modeler Premium add-ons: Text Analytics (TA), Entity Analytics (EA), Social Network Analysis (SNA), and Entity Analytics Unleashed (EAU), can be obtained from SPSS Modeler 15.0 Fix Pack 2 - Premium Add-ons.

Issues corrected: Fix List

For release notes, please refer to SPSS Modeler 15.0 Fix Pack 2 Release Notes.

A guide to the installation order for IBM SPSS Modeler products is also available.

Prerequisites

This Fix Pack can only be installed over existing installations of IBM SPSS Modeler 15.0*. Fix Pack 2 can be applied directly to the main 15.0 GA release; you do not need to install Fix Pack 1 first.

*with the exception of Modeler Professional Server Administrative Console.

NOTE: If you are applying a Fix Pack to any part of the Modeler distribution (Batch, Server, Client, Collaboration and Deployment Servers (C&DS) adapters, Social Network Analysis (SNA), Entity Analytics (EA), Text Analytics (TA), Modeler Scoring Adapter, or Modeler Solution Publisher [available from the C&DS Fix Pack 2 download document]), please ensure you install the equivalent Fix Pack to all parts of the Modeler distribution you have installed if there is a Fix Pack available. In addition, if applying the Modeler 15.0 Fix Pack 2 adapter to C&DS, first apply the required C&DS Fix Pack - these are detailed in the Modeler Adapter installation instructions below.

WARNING: If you are downloading the UNIX or Linux Fix Packs using Internet Explorer, using the HTTP download method, do not left-click the package on the Fix Central page that displays the package for download because this will cause your browser to freeze. Instead, right-click on the package and select "save target as" to download it.

Installation Instructions

IBM SPSS Modeler 15.0 Fix Pack 2 Installation Instructions - for all Fix Pack packages except the Modeler adapters.
Windows platform Installation Instructions (click to expand)

To Install on Windows platforms:

NOTE: Before applying the fix pack, you must back-up the options.cfg in your installation's \config directory. If the fix pack needs to update this file, any custom modifications will be overridden. After the fix pack is applied, review the options.cfg file to verify whether custom modifications have been reset.

1. Back-up the options.cfg file in your installation's \config directory.

2. Download the zip file containing the fix pack you require, and extract the contents of the .zip file. Doing so creates a .exe file.

Note - for Text Analytics, extracting the .zip file creates a directory containing several files; within these folders the required .exe is called setup.exe.

3. Ensure Modeler Client or Batch is shut down before applying the fix pack. If you are updating Modeler Server, ensure that the corresponding Server service is stopped.

4. Double-click the .exe file that you have downloaded. The installer automatically finds your Modeler 15.0 installation.

5. When the installation wizard is displayed, choose "Next" and then "Install" to apply the fix pack.

3. If you are updating Modeler Server, ensure that the corresponding Server service is stopped and back up its installation directories. After you have stopped the Modeler Server run the command:

./modelersrv.sh list

This command should return no processes.

4. On AIX ONLY, enter the following command:

/usr/sbin/slibclean

5. Ensure that you are logged in as the user that originally installed the product.

6. If you are installing the Modeler Batch fix pack, copy the .bin file to the Modeler Batch installation directory. If you are installing the Modeler Server fix pack, copy the .bin file to the Modeler Server installation directory.
