PROBLEM SUMMARY

USERS AFFECTED:
All IBM WebSphere Application Server Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) users

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
Dead-lock in the SIP Container threads - Expiration Timer is invoked due to Application Session expiration and invalidation.

RECOMMENDATION:
None

Expiration Timer invocation was synchronized on the same timer object.

PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
To prevent the dead-lock, the Expiration Timer invocation was synchronized on the SIP Application Session object.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix packs 7.0.0.29, 8.0.0.6, and the fix pack following 8.5.0.2. Please refer to the Recommended Updates page for delivery information:
