Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus_GUI 7.4.0 Interim Fix 1, 7.4.0.0-TIV-NCOMNIbus_GUI-IF0001

This interim fix solves issues mentioned in Technotes 1618602 & 1618620.

1618602:
When the Event Viewer is refreshed either via the "Refresh" button or by the
automatic timed refresh you may momentarily see the row colors flash. The row
colors will turn off for the entire table and then turn on again.

This is only seen when row colors are enabled and on Windows platforms when
using Internet Explorer 8 or 9.

1618620:
Sometimes when changing the filter from the drop down, some error messages
are seen in the browser console and a error dialog pops up. This only
happens when the groupings panel is turned on by configuring groupings in
the view that has been applied to the Event Viewer.

This interim fix requires the 7.4.0 GA release.

The included fix is based on Web GUI 7.4 (7.4.0.0) and should only be used
with this release.

The included ZIP file contains modified versions of the following files:

- Jsel.js, which should replace the existing copy located at
$TIPHOME/profiles/TIPProfile/installedApps/TIPCell/isc.ear/OMNIbusWebGUI.war/eventviewer/js/ibm/tivoli/ncw

- JselTreeTableView.js, which should replace the existing copy located at
$TIPHOME/profiles/TIPProfile/installedApps/TIPCell/isc.ear/OMNIbusWebGUI.war/eventviewer/js/ibm/tivoli/ncw

- JselToolbar.js, which should replace the existing copy located at
$TIPHOME/profiles/TIPProfile/installedApps/TIPCell/isc.ear/OMNIbusWebGUI.war/eventviewer/js/ibm/tivoli/ncw

- eventViewer.jsp, which should replace the existing copy located at
$TIPHOME/profiles/TIPProfile/installedApps/TIPCell/isc.ear/OMNIbusWebGUI.war/eventviewer

- version.jar (1), which should replace the existing copy located at
$TIPHOME/profiles/TIPProfile/installedApps/TIPCell/isc.ear/OMNIbusWebGUI.war/WEB-INF/lib

- version.jar (2), which should replace the existing copy located at
$TIPHOME/profiles/TIPProfile/installedApps/TIPCell/isc.ear/OMNIbusWebGUI.war/classes

where $TIPHOME is the root TIP installation directory.


The steps for installing the fix on a Unix platform are listed below:

1. Stop the TIP server
eg. $TIPHOME/bin/stopServer.sh server1
2. Take a backup of the existing files which are to be replaced
eg. cp $TIPHOME/profiles/TIPProfile/installedApps/TIPCell/isc.ear/OMNIbusWebGUI.war/eventviewer/js/ibm/tivoli/ncw/Jsel.js /tmp
cp $TIPHOME/profiles/TIPProfile/installedApps/TIPCell/isc.ear/OMNIbusWebGUI.war/eventviewer/js/ibm/tivoli/ncw/JselTreeTableView.js /tmp
cp $TIPHOME/profiles/TIPProfile/installedApps/TIPCell/isc.ear/OMNIbusWebGUI.war/eventviewer/js/ibm/tivoli/ncw/JselToolbar.js /tmp
cp $TIPHOME/profiles/TIPProfile/installedApps/TIPCell/isc.ear/OMNIbusWebGUI.war/eventviewer/eventViewer.jsp /tmp
cp $TIPHOME/profiles/TIPProfile/installedApps/TIPCell/isc.ear/OMNIbusWebGUI.war/WEB-INF/lib/version.jar /tmp
cp $TIPHOME/profiles/TIPProfile/installedApps/TIPCell/isc.ear/OMNIbusWebGUI.war/classes/version.jar /tmp/version2.jar
3. Copy the interim fix files to the TIP home directory
eg. cp 7.4.0-TIV-NCOMNIbus_GUI-IF0001_files.zip $TIPHOME
4. Move to the TIP home directory
eg. cd $TIPHOME
5. Unzip the interim fix files, opting to replace existing files
eg. unzip 7.4.0-TIV-NCOMNIbus_GUI-IF0001_files.zip
6. Restart the TIP server
eg. $TIPHOME/bin/startServer.sh server1
7. Clear your browser cache



Verifying The Fix
-----------------

1. Login to TIP.
2. Ensure that version number displayed is "7.4.0 IV32713".
3. Ensure that the behaviours mentioned in Technotes 1618602 & 1618620 no longer occur.
