IBM Tivoli Monitoring V6.2.3 Interim Support for Microsoft® Windows® Server 2012

IBM Tivoli Monitoring Version 6.2.3 will be providing full support for Windows Server 2012 with the release of IBM Tivoli Monitoring 6.2.3 Fix Pack 3 (Target release 1Q 2013).

Note: "full support" applies to the Monitoring Server, Portal Server, Portal Client, Warehouse Proxy, Summarization and Pruning Agent and Performance Analyzer. For additional Monitoring applications see the technote below.

Windows® OS Agent support will be provided prior to that for IBM Tivoli Monitoring 6.2.3 Fix Packs 1 and 2 with these Interim Fixes.

These interim fixes require patching of a writeable copy of either the IBM Tivoli Monitoring Base Agents from version 6.2.3 Fix Pack 1 or 6.2.3 Fix Pack 2 in order to resolve an installer issue with Windows® Server 2012.

The patch:

6.2.3-TIV-ITM_IN-WIN2012

is intended to be applied to any IBM Tivoli Monitoring agent installation image based on install component Version 6.2.3 FP1 or 6.2.3 FP2 that has also claimed support for Windows® Server 2012.

For pristine local install of Windows® OS Agent support you'll require:

IBM Tivoli Monitoring V6.2.3 Fixpack 1 Agent , Multiplatform, English

Passport Advantage: TM_6.2.3_FIXPACK_1_AGENT_MP_ENG.tar.gz (CI62PEN)

For upgrade and remote deploy either of IBM Tivoli Monitoring V6.2.3 Fix Pack 1 or V6.2.3 Fix Pack 2 Agents:

Fix Central: 6.2.3-TIV-ITM_TMV-Agents-FP0001.tar.gz
Fix Central: 6.2.3-TIV-ITM_TMV-Agents-FP0002.tar.gz

In addition an OS agent Interim fix is also required for IBM Tivoli Monitoring 6.2.3 Fix Pack 1 or Fix Pack 2.

A fresh local install, requires patching a copy of the IBM Tivoli Monitoring V6.2.3 Fix Pack 1 Agent install image from Passport Advantage. Once you've installed from patched media, you can then apply either the 6.2.3.1-TIV-ITM_WIN-IF0002 interim fix for the OS Agent or upgrade from a patched copy of the IBM Tivoli Monitoring V6.2.3 Fix Pack 2 Agent install image and then apply the 6.2.3.2-TIV-ITM_WIN-IF0002 interim fix.

If installing using Remote Deploy you can start with a patched copy of either IBM Tivoli Monitoring Fix Pack 1 or Fix Pack 2 Agent install images. Instructions for patching the install images are in the 6.2.3-TIV-ITM_IN-WIN2012 readme located in Fix Central
